I'm working on a couple of things that will involve plugins as well as possible client side interaction with FB. It would be very helpful to know if there are any major changes to the XML API that will be coming with the version 7 release.

I notice that api.xml is up to version number 6 now so I assume some changes have been made. Is there anything available yet on the changes?

We're still working on the docs, but the XML API should be backwards-compatible, so the existing documentation should be mostly correct if you're sticking to core features that already existed in FogBugz 6.  We have expanded it to expose the new functionality and data in FogBugz 7, so if you have a question on how to access any of that I can try to give you an answer.

I'd definitely like to have a look at the docs as soon as they are available. But I poked around a bit and found most of what I needed to know in the asp.was file.
