Is there a way to send an email?

Is there a way to send an email message from the plugin code?
SmtpClient.Send method seems not to be working:

System.Security.SecurityException: Request for the permission of type 'System.Net.Mail.SmtpPermission, System, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed.

Currently it's not possible to send email, but this is something we'll probably add in the future.
